With diabetes on the rise and new information continually surfacing about the detriments of excess sugar and refined carbohydrates, managing blood sugar is a topic of concern for most health conscious individuals. In this class, there will be a recipe demonstration and tasting. Education will be provided on label reading, carbohydrate counting, and how to pair foods to lower glycemic load. This class is perfect for anyone with diabetes or pre-diabetes or for anyone looking to improve their metabolic health through diet. Participants will receive a print out of the recipe used, an outline of what is discussed, and a serving of the meal that is prepared.

This class will be taught by Courtney McMahan, RD. Courtney is Nutrition World’s on-staff dietitian. She completed her education at UT Martin. Courtney is able to assist with all of your dietary needs. She is well versed in a variety of diets that work well for different health conditions, dietary restrictions, and health goals. She is glad to share her wealth of knowledge with the Chattanooga community.
