In this class, we will prepare two traditional breakfast dishes, but with an added twist: more veggies! While some topics in nutrition are up for debate, one thing that almost all nutrition experts agree on is this: incorporating more vegetables in the diet is a good idea. Adults should be getting a minimum of 2-3 cups of vegetables daily. Estimates report only 1 in 10 adults meets this recommendation. The problem is, finding tasty, simple ways get our vegetables in can be difficult. In this class, we will cover some of the ways different vegetables benefit us, why diversifying the vegetables we eat is so important, and practical ways to apply this information in the kitchen. Participants will receive a print out of the recipe used, an outline of what is discussed, and a serving of the meal that is prepared.

This class will be taught by Courtney McMahan, RD. Courtney is Nutrition World’s on-staff dietitian. She completed her education at UT Martin.¬†Courtney is able to assist with all of your dietary needs. She is well versed in a variety of diets that work well for different health conditions, dietary restrictions, and health goals. She is glad to share her wealth of knowledge with the Chattanooga community.
